How can you characterize peace and justice organizations?

There are thousands of governmental agencies and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) involved in conflict management and peacemaking.   This site focuses on characterizing the organizations.  The goal is to define their role in the peace industry, describe the fundamental services each organization provides, and identify how organizations collaborate.

A Mission description provides information about the goals and objectives of the organization

As a Peace & Justice organization, it is important to identify its constructive contributions to the peace industry.   In addition to the Mission Statment, goals and objectives, we identify specific "programs" or initiatives of the organization.  Of particular interest is how the organization contributes to the conflict management process in terms of "problem solving" and "Relationship building"

Integration / Collaboration / Networking

The organization's integration with the peace industry is important

 

Because the organizations within the peace industry are islands of Peacemaking, it is important to identify how each organization collaborates with the rest of the peace industry.  Networking is an indication of such collaboration and teamwork.  The peace industry could be much more effective if there were more bridges between these islands of Peacemaking.
