There are thousands of governmental agencies and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) involved in conflict management and peacemaking.   This site focuses on characterizing the organizations.  The goal is to define their role in the peace industry, describe the fundamental services each organization provides, and identify how organizations collaborate.  The following information is collected for each organization:

There are currently 2355 organizations (from 65 countries) listed in the English version of this information system.   Organizations based in other languages are being identified for future versions of the web site, so the total number of organizations entered is currently 2452.

26 Jan 07 (Version 1.2.1)
Now have 2252 organizations (63 countries) included in the list.  Few are analyzed and categorized completely - Jonathan Feiten, Regis University student has added "key issues" as they pertain to ~ 150 Colorado based orgranizations.
We were forced to changed to change our domain name from .com to .org because RegisterFly.com failed to process our .com domain renewal orders

Now have 2245 organizations (63 countries) included in the list.  Few have been analyzed and categorized completely. Continue to evolve the criteria (e.g. resources, programs, services, Awards, etc.).  Added a Department of Peace and Nonviolence Key Issue category.   Focused on identifying Colorado Peace and Justice Ordanizations - there are 147 in the database at this point.

Now have 2122 organizations included in the list.  Few have been analyzed and categorized completely. Continue to evolve the criteria (e.g. resources, programs, services, etc.).  Added an "Awards" category.

Added another category for characterizing the organizations: "resources"
+ This new category will assist in illustrating commonality among organizations
- It is a difficult category to define and will have to evolve over time as more and organizations are analyzed.

find a Peacemaker.org goes online as Version 1.0 
+ There are placeholders for 1735 organizations from 38 countries currently in the database. 
+Organization names and web site URLs have been uploaded for all entries
- Few if any of these entries have been adequately edited.
- Few if any of the entries include services offered.
- The information "portals" on most of the entries are incomplete.
